NOTE! WebButtons has reached its "End of Life." This means that no further updates are planned. WebButtons works fine as a Classic application, but it will probably never be updated for Mac OS X.

WebButtons, 3AM's first entry into the Mac OS shareware market, is a simple, inexpensive tool for the creation of beveled buttons for web site or presentation use. (See our online manual for sample buttons.) Features include: 

  • A simple, clear interface for button creation.
  • A powerful parser language, allowing batch-creation of buttons with similar characteristics.
  • Pictures on both sides of the button text, along with a background texture.
  • Support for PICT and JPEG formats.
  • Autosizing of buttons to fit text and pictures.
  • Automatic dithering to websafe colors only (if desired).
  • Anti-aliased text (if desired)

WebButtons 1.0 requires Mac OS 8.5 or later! We can no longer link to the shared library mentioned in some of the older documentation, so support for Mac OS 8.0 and 8.1 no longer exists. WebButtons 1.1 will provide full support to users of Mac OS 8.0 and 8.1 (as well native OS X support.)

Note to Mac OS 9 Users: WebButtons is compatible with Mac OS 9 when used by "Owner" or when OS 9's Multiple Users capabilities are turned off. It will also work under Multiple Users if the owner is the first to run it. Also, the owner will need to be the one to register WebButtons.
